A three Days “Entrepreneurship Development Programme on Production, Processing and Value Addition of Economically Important Crops of NEH Region” was conducted at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal during 21st to 23rd March 2024. The programme was organised by ICAR Manipur Centre, Agriculture Business Incubation (ABI), in association with Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri, Imphal which is a Service Provider of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur. The inaugural programme on 21st March 2024 was graced by Md. Zakir Hussain Khan, Joint Director, Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur & Mission Director, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) as the Chief Guest; Shri Kh. Nimaichand Singh, Project Officer, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur, Shri Donald Soubam, Deputy Director, Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur and Shri Kanmi Dominic, Director DSSS, Mantripukhri as the Guests of Honour; Dr. Ramgopal Laha, Head of ICAR Manipur Centre as the President along with Dr. I. Meghachandra Singh, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer Seed, ICAR Manipur Centre and Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist, Course Director as the presidium members.
        The training programme was organized with the objective to impart knowledge and skill on production, processing, packaging and management of economically important crops of NEH region. Food processing, apiculture, vermicompost, packaging and azolla production are major components of the training programme.
        A total of 46 participants which are representatives and members of 12 Farmer Producers Companies (FPCs) viz. Orientale Organic Farmers Producer Co Ltd, Reangluang Organic Farmers Producer Co Ltd, Rumril Organic FPC, Tazei FPC, Taosuam Organic FPC, Dilung FPC, Haoram FPC, Ihao Organic FPC, Sivathei FPC, Ringrum FPC, Semka FPC and Masouching Organic FPC which are promoted by DSSS Mantripukhri under MOVCDNER-Phase III attended the training programme along with two local entrepreneurs.
        Experts from ICAR Manipur Centre, ICAR KVKs and Professors of College of Food Technology, CAU, Imphal acted as resource persons in the training programme. The valedictory programme was graced by Dr. I. Meghachandra Singh, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer Seed, ICAR Manipur Centre as the President; Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist, Incharge ABI ICAR Manipur Centre and Dr. A Ratankumar Singh, Senior Scientist as the presidium members.
